I love how pretty she looks, especially the lips. She looks real, yet at the same time she doesn't. It's really captivating, I love her long lashes too! She looks godly, which I assume you were going for, right? It fits her perfectly, nice job. The colouring looks amazing too, her hair looks so silky. But I really like the way you coloured the crown, the shading on it is gorgeous!
The colors looks like it has more neutral tones on my monitor. Like, the effect a midday overcast light would have on skin, though not that severe. I do see the use of some complimentary colors around the edges of the skin and on the shadows. The skin as a whole, I don't actually see that much yellow or pink. Here's a photo that resembles the skin tones to me [link] I'm guessing you were aiming for this kind of skin tone? [link]
And I don't mind you asking, if you feel your monitor has some color calibration issues do take the time looking into it.
Oh that's interesting. I wasn't aiming for the second, but I wasn't aiming for the first either. I was aiming for a sort of royal-portrait-painting, like this: [link] (sorry for the huuuge link) So sort of neutral, pale, with some mild cast shadows. I asked about the pink because, for example, if I compare my painting to the one I linked, mine looks very pink, too pink. Interesting! (:
Oh no, the links I shared wasn't meant for composition ideas. I was just pointing out the skin tones that I was observing.
Ok. I can see the direction you were going with this. Side by side my eyes are playing tricks on me too. Though I don't see the pink you are mentioning, I guess its a difference in our monitor calibrations. In a private note I sent you an edit I made highlighting the skin, I adjusted it to kinda mimic your example.
Wow, gorgeous! Her hair and eyes are fantastic! My only complaint is that she doesn't look as kind as she is. As the Element of Harmony and an obviously altruistic princess, I would picture her smiling, you know?
